How eyelash extensions are applied

Celebrity Lashes! They Aren’t Born With Them!

They are wearing eyelash extensions! It’s the hottest new Hollywood beauty secret, and now, we can have them too! Thick luscious eyelashes do so much to enhance the face. They make your eyes appear bigger and more youthful. We all know what a difference mascara makes, now there’s something even better!

Eyelash extensions are individual synthetic lashes which are adhered to your own natural eyelashes one lash to one lash. They are pre-curled to give a beautiful sweep of lashes, even if your own eyelashes are very short or straight. Extensions are attached using a surgical grade adhesive like the kind used for suture-less wound closure, so it’s completely safe.  Eyelash extensions are not false eyelashes. Eyelash extensions are attached to your eyelash hair shaft only and never your skin, so they are completely weightless and feel like your own natural eyelashes.

You can exercise, go to the beach, swim and sweat and never have mascara running or smudging your face, and you will look fabulous doing it! They are also great for people who prefer not to wear makeup, or are sensitive to many eye cosmetics. With eyelash extensions, mascara becomes optional!

The procedure is painless and relaxing and takes about an hour and a half for the initial set, with touch ups at about 45 minutes. Eyelash extensions are considered “semi-permanent”. With proper care they last for the life of the individual lash they are adhered to. Eyelash life cycles vary from 6 to 8 weeks. Touch ups are required once to twice a month, to keep them looking full and fresh, as your lashes naturally shed out. When properly and professionally applied, eyelash extensions do not harm your natural eyelashes.

Eyelash extensions are available in various lengths, thicknesses and curvatures. Your eyelash extensionist should use a creative eye to take into consideration the overall shape of your eye and face, to mix various lengths across the eyelid to give a natural look, and to make adjustments based on your personal preference in order to achieve exactly the look you want.

To prolong the wear of your extensions, you should use the appropriate companion products including mascara, eye-make up remover and protective coating. You should never use a mechanical crimper to curl your eyelashes, they can damage even natural lashes.  A heated lash curler is available, but is not usually necessary, as the extensions are already beautifully curled.

Eyelash extensions are one of the few ways to cut down on your beauty routine! Wake up with gorgeous eyes, remove your makeup and the end of the day, and still have gorgeous eyes!!
